Daulton Wilson kicks of 2025 Lucas Oil campaign with 10th-place outing at Golden Isles Speedway
For the season-opening Super Bowl of Racing, Daulton Wilson unloaded his JRR Motorsports No. 18D machine at Golden Isles Speedway (Waynesville, Ga.) to kick off another year on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tour.
With cold weather pushing back the first two nights of action, Wilson hit the track on Friday evening and laid down the second-fastest lap in his qualifying group before taking the checkered flag in his heat race. Starting third in the $12,000-to-win opener, Daulton took the top spot and led laps 7-41 before fading late in the 50-lap feature to finish 11th. After a competitor ahead of him was penalized, Wilson was awarded the 10th-finishing position.
Inclement weather and an unfavorable forecast forced track and series officials to cancel the final two rounds of the Super Bowl of Racing on Saturday and Sunday.
